The Work

All artwork is original, acrylic and mixed media on canvas or panel. No prints for now.

The goal of my work as an artist is to make people feel: to evoke a genuine emotion in a person that wasn’t there before experiencing my work. There is great power in something as simple as the combination of colors, the balancing of shapes and strokes, the use of symmetry, or lack thereof—each affects the emotional provocation of the work. And to me, emotion drives meaning. Whether right, wrong, misplaced, or out of control—inarguably, true emotion does wield power over the human mind.

I believe the life most fulfilled is one in which beauty, joy, and meaning are not at war. These are the co-creators of a life well-lived.

The one hell which imagination must conceive as most hellish is to be eternally acting a play without even the narrowest and dirtiest greenroom in which to be human. And this is the condition of the decadent, of the aesthete, of the free-lover. To be everlastingly passing through dangers which we know cannot scare us, to take oaths which we know cannot bind us, to defy enemies who we know cannot conquer us. — this is the grinning tyranny of decadence which is called ‘freedom.’
— G. K. Chesterton
